Rieccoci con il Blog dell’Orso Ciccione, scusandoci per l’interruzione dovuta a cause indipendenti dalla nostra volontà (ho sempre sognato di poterlo dire!).
Certo, molti di voi diranno che, visto il ritmo degli ultimi tempi, non si è quasi notata la caduta del blog dovuta ad un simpatico attacco hacker; in ogni caso vi aspettano alcune vignette per tenervi compagnia nel mese di agosto.

Che faccio, combatto i mulini a vento e sparo un pistolotto sulla differenza tra hacker e pirati informatici o alzo bandiera bianca e ammetto che la disinformazione mediatica ha ancora una volta vinto…
Mentre ci penso consiglio a coloro che hanno un pò di tempo libero che non sanno come passare di andare sul loro motore di ricerca preferito la storia di internet e magari il manifesto dell’etica hacker.

@Osoloco: io alzo subito bandiera bianca e ammetto la mia ignoranza
tanto che per esempio anche il termine “lamer” mi era sconosciuto prima di leggerlo nella sceneggiatura di un fumetto di Haku (vedi Filobosco).
Mi consola comunque sapere che ci sia differenza tra hacker e pirata informatico, visto che come dicevo tristemente alla Neko ieri “una volta gli hacker si dedicavano a obiettivi più seri e ambiziosi”: fa piacere sapere che i vecchi hacker non sono cambiati e hanno ancora il loro amor proprio, mentre semplicemente sono nate nuove razze di “incursori” (mi si passi il termine) che dovrebbero trovare modi migliori di passare il loro tempo
Una dotta spiegazione sulla differenza tra i termini comunque sarebbe stata apprezzata, ti assicuro, almeno da me

@Orso Ciccione: si potrebbe fare un discorso lungo è articolato, ma temo non adatto al blog.
Condensano e omettendo posso provare a spiegare la linea di separazione citando alcuni punti dell’etica hacker.
Prima di tutto quello che porta tutti a considerare gli hacker i cattivi, la loro asserzione che “Tutta l’informazione deve essere libera. L’ accesso ai computer deve essere illimitato e completo”
Eccoli i pirati informatici quindi ?
No, perchè l’etica dichiara esplicitamente che “L’hackeraggio per esplorazione e divertimento è eticamente corretto, finché non siano commessi intenzionalmente furti, atti di vandalismo, distruzione di privacy, danno ai sistemi informatici: è contro l’etica alterare i dati che non siano quelli necessari per eliminare le proprie tracce, evitando così d’essere identificati” questo è ciò che differenzia gli hacker dai pirati informatici.
